Here’s a list of the Bay Area 2013 , 4th of July fireworks,activities and events, mostly free.
San Francisco - 4th of July 2013 Pier 39 Waterfront Celebration & Fireworks – Free.
on Thursday, July 4, 2013, celebration from 12-9:30pm.
12pm: WJM, the world’s youngest social cause band
4pm: Tainted Love
9:30pm: Fireworks over the San Francisco Bay
Fireworks will launch from the foot of MUNI Pier and barges just north of PIER 39, San Francisco, CA. Find a viewing spot along the waterfront at Aquatic Park, or try a different view from Coit Tower, Ghirardelli Square, or the Cannery.
p.s: Public transportation is highly recommended. The Municipal Pier, located at the foot of Van Ness Avenue, will be closed to the public on the Fourth of July.
Alameda- Parade starts from Park St, and ends at Jivin Jubilee at Rittler Park from 12- 4 pm
Benicia -Fireworks, Freedom Festival Torchlight Parade & Picnic in the Park-Freedom Festival activities in Downtown Benicia start with the Torchlight Parade on July 3, 2013, 6:30pm. Picnic in the Park & Fireworks take place July 4th, 2013, noon – 7pm in Benicia City Park, on the corner of Military and First Streets. The event features live entertainment, an open-air market, hot food, and lots of fun activities for children. Fireworks at 9pm at the bottom of First Street.
Berkeley- 4th of July Celebration - July 4, 2013. Noon to 10pm at Berkeley Marina and Cesar Chavez Park. Live entertainment from noon until 9:30pm on the main stage including music and dancers. Jugglers, magicians, comedians, and on the Buddy Club Stage in Shorebird Park. Fireworks at 9:30pm at the end of Berkeley Pier.
Concord -4th of July Jubilee and Parade - July 4, 2013.Pancake breakfast 6:30-11am. Hot dog lunches at 11am. Tickets $5. Parade at 10am along Salvio St and Mira Vista Terrace. Fire Truck Pull 10am. Free Kids Fun Run 8:15am. 5K Run & Walk 8:30 am. Singing Flag variety show July 2, 3, and 4 followed by fireworks each night at 9:20pm at Dave Brubeck Park, 4363 Concord Blvd.
Danville- July 4th Parade - July 4, 2013. Parade starts at 9am and runs from the corner of Hartz Avenue and Railroad Avenue, continues down Hartz and San Ramon Valley Boulevard and ends at the corner of San Ramon Valley Boulevard and Sycamore Valley Road.
Fremont- 4th of July Parade - July 4, 2013. Parade starts at 10am in the Downtown District. Route begins at State St and Capitol Ave, then on to Paseo Padre Pkwy, Walnut Ave, Liberty St, and ends on Beacon Ave at the corner of State St.
Hayward -Old-Fashioned Fourth of July: July 4, 2013. 11am-3pm at Meek Park, 17365 Boston Road. Even features fun games and crafts, a History Hunt around the park, free live music, and tours of the mansion which include actors’ portrayals of the Meek family. Bring your own picnic. Hot dogs and soda available for purchase.
San Ramon- Star-Spangled Spectacular: July 4, 2013,4-7:30pm at San Ramon Central Park, 12501 Alcosta Blvd. Start the summer concert season by enjoying patriotic music performed by the San Ramon Symphonic Band under the direction of Larry Colon. Then dance to your favorite hits of the 80’s presented by the high energy dance band, The Cheeseballs. Bring your picnic and lawn chairs for a great evening in San Ramon.
Livermore- There will be Family Fun, Fireworks, Arts & Crafts, Live Entertainment, Food & More!

Milpitas -Waving the Red, White & Blue Pool Party, Concert, and Red, White & Boom: July 4, 2013 at the Milpitas Sports Center Complex, 1325 E Calaveras Blvd. Pool party at 1-4pm, music, games and fun ($2 admission). Red, White & Boom concert and fireworks show from 7-10pm ($3 admission).
Santa Clara -Fireworks Extravaganza Show: July 4, 2013, 5-10pm at the Community Rec Center, 969 Kiely Blvd. Jazz music starts at 5pm, Rock-n-Roll at 7:30pm, and fireworks at 9:30pm. Food trucks and local vendors
Santa Clara, Great America- Come celebrate Independence Day 2013 and see one of the largest fireworks displays in the Bay Area at California’s Great America theme park on Friday and Saturday, July 5-6, 2013.Fireworks will start at 9:30 pm. Single day admission is $45.99 for adults and $39.99 for children under 48 inches and seniors 62+.
Great America will also be lighting up the sky every Saturday night in July and August 2013.
San Jose -Rose, White and Blue Parade and Picnic: July 4, 2013. Parade starts at 10am at the Lincoln High School parking lot at 555 Dana Ave. Picnic on The Alameda at Westminster Church, 11am-3pm, featuring live entertainment. Food and drink available from local restaurants. Picnic tables and chairs will be set up under the shade of trees in front of the Westminster Church.
Palo Alto - Summer Festival and Chili Cook-Off: July 4, 2013. 12-5pm at Mitchell Park, 600 E Meadow Dr. Chili tasting starts at 1:30pm. Live music, dancing, children’s activities, and food.
Redwood City- Independence Day Parade and Festival: July 4, 2013. Fire Department Benefit Pancake Breakfast 7:30-10:30am at the Redwood City Fire Department. Parade starts at 10am in downtown Redwood City. Festival from 9am-5pm features food, arts, crafts, entertainment, live music, kids’ area, and a car show. Fireworks launched from the Port of Redwood City at approx. 9:15pm
Foster City- Fourth of July Celebration: July 4, 2013. 8am-9:30pm at Leo Ryan Park. Pancake breakfast at 8am at Island United Church, Meadow, Shell Blvd. Family and Dog Parade at 11:05am at the Rec Center, Shell Blvd. Lions Club Barbecue 11:30am-9pm at Leo Ryan Park. Live music and games start at noon. Fireworks at 9:30pm over the Lagoon at Leo Ryan Park.
Menlo Park- 4th of July Parade and Celebration: July 4, 2013. 11:45am-2:30pm. Parade starts at 11:45am and runs down Santa Cruz Ave to Burgess Park. Music, games, food, and more till 2:30pm at Burgess Park, 701 Laurel Street, Menlo Park, CA.
