Rangoli Art Walk at Bishop Ranch on 25 July' 2013
Today FuntainmentFactory, Celebrated art, beauty and culture at the BISHOP RANCH RANGOLI Art Walk.
A colorful form of Indian folk art, which symbolizes joy and happiness and an awareness of our Culture!!!
RANGOLI is a decorative designs, made on courtyard,patio and outdoor- floors during Hindu festivals/ celebrations to bring good luck and pious feeling and to add a little more Beauty!!!.
In old-gold times, it was also used as a indicator to let visitors know that the lady of the house was ready to receive guests.As it is a symbol of religious and cultural beliefs, specifically Hindu,it is considered an important part of the spiritual process - called the purification of the spirit and the prosperity that lies behind such purification. Rangoli thus symbolizes Purity n prosperity and this art is done in every part of India by different names.

The patterns are typically created using rice, flour, chalk power and sand to which natural colors are added. Flowers and petals are also added to give charm and fresh-neat look.Now-a-days we decorate then with Diyas( oil laterns) / scented candles and sparkles !!!
The basic designs are However -
Swastik, Lotus flower, Lakshmiji steps , OM , leaves ,Fruits, shapes and many more....
As in modern times, families are following the same patterns as our ancestors.... using simplicity, high spirits and innovation.Modern day Rangoli can be seen with some artificial effects too like - beads, crystals glitters...n ....there are endless other options.
With time, imagination and innovative ideas in Rangoli art has remarkably n surprisingly grown. Its traditional charm, artistry and importance remains and will always be lively!!!
